The short version:
A closet romantic and a cynic; compulsive reader and wanna-be writer; a confused soul; stubborn as a mule and yet strangely pliable at times; drunk dancer (and dialer) who doesn’t listen to much music; wanna-be hippie; and day dreamer.

What I do:
Currently, I am exploring and learning.
How I write:
Simply. You are unlikely to find long convoluting sentences or fancy words/ jargon here. Much as I would love to write like Gregory David Roberts or Salman Rushdie, it doesn’t come naturally to me. Neither does the use of terms like ‘hegemony’, ‘sublimation’, ‘deconstruction’ and ‘modernity/post-modernism’.
What I write about:
Anything and everything. I don’t dabble in fiction though.
Everything around me: from books and movies to Hindi soaps, food, and strangers.
I don’t understand:
Poetry. Bigotry. Racism. Homophobia. Why The Pillars of the Earth and Catch-22 are must-reads and The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a cult movie. Jargon. Why we constantly complicate life. Society. Charity. Diets. Love. Life. Fashion. Myself.
My favourite books:
Fiction: Shantaram, The Midnight’s Children, everything by Oscar Wilde (especially The Picture of Dorian Gray), Alice in Wonderland, The Fountainhead, The Book Thief, The Wheel of Time series, The Lord of the Rings, A Clockwork Orange, 1984, Animal Farm, Last Song of Dusk, One Hundred Years of Solitude, Love in the Time of Cholera, the Little Prince, Fragile Things, The Secret Garden, Cocaine, Perry Masons, P.G. Wodehouse’s work, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and many more.
Non-fiction: Promiscuities, The Beauty Myth, Notes to Myself, Rethinking History.
Graphic novels: Persepolis, Maus, The Watchmen.
